About Me
I was born and raised in Sonoma County, California, and have worked as an anthropologist in California, Ireland, England, and Armenia. I have been lucky enough to meet and interview hundreds of people. Interviewees include historians, public servants, friends, family, and survivors of violence and genocide. Everyone has a story within them, and documenting peoples’ stories is a passion of mine. I use my skills to gently shape each interview into a storytelling experience for the interviewee.
In 2012, I received my PhD from the University of Reading, England. My research demonstrated Iron Age and Roman period interactions with hundreds of megalithic tombs across Atlantic Europe. I then returned to California to continue my work as an anthropologist. In collaboration with the Pomo Indian community, I conducted dozens of interviews with Pomo speakers. I recorded stories and vocabulary to create language learning programs. I also interviewed tribal members whose families survived the violence of the California missions.
Subsequently, I founded Locality Research and Preservation. The goal of the organization was to increase awareness, connection, and respect for local history. I coordinated in-school archaeology experiences, redesigned museum exhibits, and delivered community lectures. I also promoted local history events across the Bay Area.
Most recently, I’ve worked as a public sector management consultant focused on improving public services. A large part of my role has been listening to the needs and challenges of the public and of local government staff. Being a strong listener, who validates the experiences of interviewees, has helped me to excel in this role.
I look forward to guiding you through the interview experience and helping you to document your story!
